called twice today. they did not leave a message.
Got call at 7:49 am EST - did not answer. Can anybody do anything about this?
This is Toni from the Orthodontics office's phone company. Their PBX phone system was hacked by a company in Moscow. We have placed a long-distance block on the phone number as a temporary fix, and their PBX vendor will be reconfiguring their equipment to block the IP. The IP address that hacked their system is: 18.104.22.168 (Maybe this will help others from being hacked by the same people).
I received an automated call from this number, purporting to be Guadalupe Credit Union (I am in New Mexico) telling me my credit card had been suspended due to unauthorized activity. I was to enter my card number to reactivate it. I have no accounts with this financial institution. I googled the phone number from my caller ID and it came up as belonging to Ward Orthodontice in Okemos, MI. This is obviously a Phishing scam, and they perhaps have hijacked this unsuspecting dentist's phone number to disguise themselves.
Called early afternoon. No message left. No name identified.
Computer-dialed home line in Virginia, they were calling stating that Virginia Credit Union credit card "was in jepoardy of being cancelled - to reactivate, press '1'" at this time the call was terminated on receiving end. Caller ID showed 517-999-5200, so we called this back via Skype to remain anonymous. After several rings with nobody answering, a recording identified that number as First American Payment Systems. This is obviously a scam/phishing attempt intended to have hapless recipients press '1' and include their personal information and/or credit card information. Blatant attempt at identity theft and must be STOPPED.
Same thing, I got an automated call saying my city bank card was temporarily disabled because a third party had acessed it. I called back and it is a bail bond company recording. Smells like a scam.
At 8:30 tonight, we received a call from this number. When my husband answered, someone hung up.
Got a recorded message that sounded like Anthony Hawkins (the guy in the wheelchair who types to talk) saying that it was Mohave State Bank and my visa card had been temp. disabled cuz they believed a third party had accessed it. I dont bank with mohave state bank and never have. must be a scam of some sort. they ask you to press one....BEWARE!!!
Got a call from this number. No name attached. When answered did not get to talk to anybody on the other end. Hung the phone up after a couple of seconds.
I received a call on my cellphone from this number at 2:15 am!When I got to my phone, they had already disconnected: No message. This seems very suspicious, so beware.
Sept. 26th received a voice mail from this number. Said "...to inform you that for security purposes we have locked your debit card. If you wish to restore it, please press 1 now and you will be transfered to our security department." No mention of a particular bank or cu. Called my finanical institution, no issues with my debit card. Logged into my account to make sure there was no unauthorized use. Reported it then to this website: http://phonephishing.info/vish•ing|'vi SH i NG| (noun) the activity of defrauding account holders using social engineering over the telephone system.Good luck, never give out your information unless YOU initiate the call and are sure of who you are calling.
Got a call at Sept 8th from this number, said my bank card was trying to be used by a third party and to dial 1 to verify information...SCAM!!!!
I just received a call at 8:36 EST on 9/9/10 and someone said my debit card had been compromised and to enter one to proceed and confirm. I hung up immediately and called my bank. it is a scam.
We received a call from this number at 10:30pm stating our debit card was compromised. It asked for us to put in our card number. I could not reach a live person and it was difficult to disconnect the call. If anyone knows what authority I could report this to, please let me know.
I never answer unidentifiable numbers. Never left a voicemail, which signifies no importance. Glad I checked this site to see about the number! Scamers!
This phone call is a scam. When you call it back, it does not even exist. Watch out
